As Onyx Capital Group expands internationally once more, we would formally like to introduce Mirko Ivanda and Ante Ivankovic as Co-Heads of Gas and Power based out of our new office in Zug, Switzerland.
Onyx CEO and Co-Founder Greg Newman says he’s “very excited to have Mirko and Ante on board to lead the charge into power and gas. It’s a notoriously volatile and tricky market, and we want to do this the right way. Their experience gives us a lot of confidence, and we can build something impressive and for the long run as we widen our liquidity offering.”
Mirko and Ante join Onyx as well-seasoned Energy Traders, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Onyx power trading arm. With their strong track record of implementing strategies which dynamically incorporate fundamental, technical, and market-psychology considerations, the pair are destined for success.
Mirko joins Onyx with a solid knowledge of the European Trading climate and sixteen years of trading experience. His experience and knowledge have come from the likes of Vattenfall Energy Trading in Germany and Litasco, Switzerland.
Ante joins with seventeen years’ experience in trading, with an impressive resume, gaining experience from Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, Trailstone, Statkraft and Uniper, just to name a few.
When asked about their vision for the Zug desks, Mirko and Ante say they wish to build upon their “fundamental background in the European energy space and combine it with cutting edge technology to allow a holistic risk assessment approach,” which will enable them to “capture value in the European energy space and beyond.”
Mirko, Ante, and their team will be capturing the main themes of the day while keeping an eye on the ever-changing landscape of opportunities and risks as the world shifts to a cleaner (but also more volatile), controllable energy space.
Mirko goes on to say, “The need for efficient price finding in our power markets will only grow as the electrification of everything kicks into overdrive”, ultimately leading to Onyx’s growing footprint on these developing markets.
Mirko and Ante say they “look forward to working closely with Greg and Omar [Co-Founders of Onyx Capital Group] and the whole Onyx team to create something of significance.”
